Moving from reCAPTCHA to Cloudflare Turnstile
At SetSeed, we’re always improving our platform for our users. Recently, we switched from Google’s reCAPTCHA to Cloudflare Turnstile as our main anti-spam tool because reCAPTCHA was simply letting through too much spam.
Despite its popularity, reCAPTCHA no longer works well with our built-in form system, especially when customers' websites are targeted by bot farms. Spam was getting past the filters, cluttering submissions with junk. Some users also found the reCAPTCHA puzzles frustrating and time-consuming, which was disruptive.
Cloudflare Turnstile has solved these issues. It operates seamlessly in the background, eliminating annoying puzzles and ensuring smoother interactions. It also prioritises privacy, collecting minimal data and adhering to strict standards, aligning with our commitment to protecting user information.
Since adopting Turnstile, our bot targeted customers have seen a significant reduction in spam. This transition has led to fewer disruptions and a better overall platform for our users.
Switching to Cloudflare Turnstile has been a positive change for SetSeed. It's also very easy to add — just two fields in Website settings.
